This Auto Lens Adapter from Vello allows a Canon EF or EF-S mount lens to be used on a Canon RF-mount camera. Electronic communication between an attached camera and lens is supported, enabling autofocus as well as auto exposure features. Image Stabilization is supported when used with natively IS-enabled product combinations. If an attached lens is capable of generating Exif metadata, this adapter is designed to transfer that information so that it can be saved with image files generated by the combined Canon EF or EF-S mount lens and Canon-RF mount camera.

Using the adapter on R6 body. Flash does not work. All settings are correctly set. Does this support flash? 580ex
Be sure you don't have the electronic shutter on, this would cause that to happen. We tested the R6 with the adapter and a 580ex and it fires just fine.

Is this compatible with the new R7 mirrorless and my Sigma 50-500mm f/4.5-6.3 APO DG OS HSM Lens ?
I have this adapter and it works well with my EOS RP and EOS R5 with my Canon EF lenses, but I do not have the R7 nor the Sigma lens. I have no reason to believe it won't work well. I also have the Canon adapter with the built-in programmable ring. It is more expensive, but worth the extra $.

We have tested the Sigma 50mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Lens for Canon EF on the Vello Auto Lens Adapter for Canon EF/EF-S Lens to Canon RF-Mount Camera in our NYC Superstore and the lens both mounts to the lens adapter as well as autofocuses and adjusts the lens' aperture via the control dials on the Canon EOS R-series Mirrorless Digital Cameras (it was tested on all Canon EOS R-series cameras currently on display in our NYC Superstore). The best I can state is if the lens will not mount onto the Vello Auto Lens Adapter for Canon EF/EF-S Lens to Canon RF-Mount Camera you received, either the adapter you received is defective, or you received the wrong adapter. If the item was purchased within the last 30 days, you may contact our Customer Service Department to return the adapter for an exchange or a refund. If it has been longer than 30 days from your original purchase date, you may contact Vello directly for assistance by e-mailing them at [email protected].
