This durable adapter will allow you these lenses to be mounted to a Sony E-mount camera. Precise construction makes it easy to attach an adapted lens to a camera body and keep it secure during use. Infinity focus is guaranteed, ensuring proper functionality when shooting at long distances. This adapter features a built-in manual aperture control ring that will allow the aperture of the lens to be controlled for adjusting exposure and depth of field.

The adapter is made from a durable zinc alloy for long life. Although the lens will fit physically, autofocus, automatic diaphragm (AE metering), and other functions dependent on communication between camera body and lens will be disrupted by the lens adapter. Focus and exposure will need to be set manually, or metered in aperture priority (stop-down) mode.

A practical, well-constructed adapter for EF-mount lenses

This adapter is a useful piece of gear to have around when you're working with different camera systems. The construction is the first thing that stands out to me. It has a solid feel in the hand, and the zinc alloy body doesn't feel flimsy or cheaply made. The connections are clean and secure, which is exactly what I want from something sitting between an expensive lens and camera body. One feature I particularly like is the manual aperture control. It adds another level of flexibility when using older Canon EF lenses on a Sony E mount camera. You're giving up some of the electronic communication between the camera and lens, but having physical control over the aperture makes the adapter much more useful for certain setups. I also like having adapters like this available for the students who borrow equipment from our program for their film projects. Many students have their own cameras and lenses and providing an easy and affordable way to adapt different lenses gives them more options without requiring them to buy an entirely new set of glass. That's especially helpful when they're trying to get a particular look for a project. The adapter has a clean finish, and the inside is matte black, which is a nice detail. In my opinion, it feels like a dependable piece of equipment that should handle being used, packed into a camera bag, and used again. It's a simple accessory, but it can make a collection of lenses much more versatile. [I have received this product in exchange for my honest review.]

Check with B&H; appears to be vignetting, not aperture

The "aperture" control on this Canon EF/EF-S adapter appears to be a mechanical iris behind the lens, not Canon's electronically actuated aperture inside the lens. Unfortunately, unless the aperture is located in the correct position in the lens, you mostly just get vignetting. Thus this adapter will not provide true aperture control. It will largely be vignetting control. I advise checking with B&H before purchasing this with the expectation you will get true aperture control.
