Rhino Camera Gear Time-Lapse Camera Slider Reviews

First Slider

The slider just feels like quality in the hands, but if you're new to the slider world, I was seriously put off by how big 42 inches was and didn't expect it to be so big. If you're new into the slider world, this is something to consider. 1) Weight - the weight of the arc 2 is no joke. It feels like a brick in the hands. Why does this matter, with a 42 inch slider, it will take (2) tripods to mount. I have a Benro BV4 Pro which is a tank of a tripod, and it took the tripod with it, when the arc 2 reached the end of the slider on a movement. So if your thoughts were to use one tripod, that will not happen. So if you plan on doing smaller movements, the 24 slider will be just fine. 2) The soft case they provide in my opinion, is absolutely terrible. I spoke with Brittany, their customer service manager a TON over the past 2 days and let me tell you, she is literally the BEST customer service manager I have ever worked with. No joke, no biased opinions, literally the best. I told her about my complaints with the soft shell and to be frank with you, she seemed to take the negative criticism in stride and was still amazing to work with. With that being said, do yourself a favor and just buy the hard case for travel purposes. If you never plan on traveling with the arc 2, then the softcase will work, but for travel purposes the hard shell is mandatory. Again, this softcase is one of the worst cases I've ever seen come with a product. 3) If you plan on doing incline shots, make sure you go buy a good ballhead. I purchase some Benro GX35 ball heads to attach to the Arc 2 for include shots while composing the frame to still face forward and level. 4) QUIET. This thing is ultra quiet to the point, it's almost pleasant to listen to. 5) The slider will not manually slide with either motor is installed on the slider. 6) I'm sure there is more that I'm missing, but I want to leave you with this. The edelkrone and rhino battle is a joke. The cable issues I'm hearing about, the noise issues, are 100% not non-existent with my unit. I love my arc 2 and I can't wait to move with rhino :D

I love companies that produce a product that makes sense and is a result of listening to their customer's needs. I am new to Rhino, but my limited exposure to this company has been very positive. They have great customer service. Excited to see what is in store in the future.

Great Slider!!!

This slider is really smooth and much quieter than my previous slider of a different and lesser known brand. The length is good for my needs as I like the option to have more horizontal travel when needed. The only thing is the included High Torque motor is a little slow for me so I ordered the High Speed motor to use when I don't need vertical footage.

I haven't had a chance to use it much, but so far I love it! I have called the company with a few questions, and they have been very kind and helpful. I definitely recommend if you are in the market for a slider. They also have a higher speed motor, that is swappable. I bought that to offer more flexibility in use with video. The camera port on the Arc II is a 2,5mm jack.

Can this be used with a single tripod or does it require 2 tripods? If it can use a single tripod, what is the minimum distance required between legs to support a 5 lb camera & lens set up? Thank you.

I've used two cheap light stands and it works great. Just sandbag the stands to make sure nothing tips over.
