question

can you mount a boom arm to this one ? and if so which one ?
Asked by: Anonymous
In place of the grip arm included with the stand, the Matthews Mini Boom (45-80"), B&H # MABMM can be used for holding heavier lights. It features a hook at the end to add a counterweight as well. https://bhpho.to/2kF8qkD

can this cstand be "soldiered" with another of the same unit for more efficient storage? and can you use impact 40" risers & impact grip heads with this cstand? if it's not compatible, is this the right grip head ( B&H # MAHWH2.5 ) for this matthews sliding leg cstand?
Asked by: Kevin
You may purchase the Matthews C-Stand Rolling KitBag for 3 Stands (Black), B&H # MA339776, or the Impact Rolling Case for Three 52" C-Stands, B&H # IMLKB3RCS, may be purchased for efficient storage and transport of the Matthews Hollywood C-Stand Grip Arm Kit (Silver, 10.5'). While Impact C-stand risers are not listed as separate accessories on our website, if you already own an Impact C-stand riser, it should be compatible for use with the above stand, along with Impact grip heads and the Matthews Hollywood Grip Head - 2-1/2".

question

I own this stand, Matthews Hollywood Century C Stand Grip Arm Kit - 10.5' (3.2m)B&H # MALSC40HW MFR # 756040. I need an attachment to connect a PCB Einstein to the end, is anything compatible sold for this use?
Asked by: Joe
I don't think you need any special attachment. Just attach the strobe to the side of the arm without the knuckle on it. anything with a baby pin receptacle should fit on the c stand arm.

Looking for an outdoor C stand. I own a bunch of the impact turtle base kits, (Impact Turtle Base C-Stand Kit (10.75', Chrome) BH #IMLSCT40MK ), but this Matthews Cstand seems better than the impact sliding leg version, since the Matthews bottom legs are all one piece for sliding leg outdoors. would the impact grip heads/accessories fit on the matthews c stands?
Asked by: Kevin
Yes, the Impact grip heads and grip arms are compatible with other C-stands from Matthews.

can i simply attach a aputure light to this stand or do I need more accessories like a ball head and sandbags?
Asked by: louis
You can attach almost any light to this stand, either to the arm or the column itself. You don't need a sandbag if you know the correct way to set up a c-stand, but it would be highly recommended. As a ex-professional grip walking around NYC observing shoots I can tell you few people truly understand how to use these stands correctly, so be sure to do you research!
