Remin 800 overview

  • 1Description

The Remin Tri-Kart 800 uses a patented, push-button locking system with tubular polycarbonate handle and 6" roller bearing semi-pneumatic wheels. It has chrome plated solid steel wheel guards to protect loads and steel sliding base lock.

It has a weight capacity of 300 lbs (136kg) and is constructed of chrome plated steel wire, with curb/stair slides. Adjustable lock on permanently attached elastic cords prevents load shifting.

Patented rear platform with 3" swivel casters folds down into locked position to function as a four wheel dolly. A grip handle may be purchased separately for more control.

    Remin 800 reviews

    Tri-Kart 800 Cart is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 54.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from 5 ***** I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this cart. It has a heavier duty frame than the 750 model, with larger wheels and casters. It is actually 1 in. shorter in the folded position but 1 in. thicker due to the heavy duty wheels. Weighted down it manovers like a dream. It is as good as they come. I used this on our last family cruise for our carry on luggage which totaled well over 100 lbs. and I had absoutly no problems. The optional bag however, that I ordered for it was way too snug. The firt time trying to close the zipper the pull handle for the zipper broke in half. The cart itself worked flawlessly - easy to fold up, and lock into position, as well as roll. I can definetly say that this will be the last cart I will ever have to purchase.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from will need repairs after 2-3 years My wife is a makeup artist in Las Vegas and is on her 3rd Tri Kart the last 8 years. It is the best we have found til now but it has serious problems. She takes 80-100 lbs of makeup and hair stuff 20+ days a month in and out of Vegas hotels and studios. The retractable handle bends after about a year of this and scrapes every time you put it in and out eventually deteriorating the inner tubing until it eventually will not retract at all... The warranty does not cover this!!! they charge $ for this repair takes a couple of weeks and shipping is on you plus it is a pain and expensive to ship... the repair will only last another year and then the same problem. We are getting quite a collection of useless tri-kart 800s in our garage and am looking now for a better alternative before adding a fourth.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from reliable & well-made product This is my third Tri-Kart 800 (sometimes I use two at once - pulling one and pushing the other) and the oldest one (at least 15 years old) still functions. The Achilles heel is the aluminum telescoping tubes which (with a substantial load) can bend over time making collapsing difficult or impossible. Luckily the cart can be sent back to Remin and for a fee, they will replace them, along with the wheels, bungee cord, and handle. If your load doesn't extend high enough on the cart to tip it back, you should consider the Super 600 which is same unit minus the rear platform.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Sturdy cart I had a job and was on a search for a hand truck. I really did not want to spend more than $ which is what Magliners and types go for. I needed compact and it had to store very easy and still be a decent hand truck. I have no problem recommending this. The extra Two wheels when you tilt and the additional handle accessory are great. This is by no means a light weight cart empty, but solid. Just pay attention to your weight of what you are loading and all is ok.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Buy this without hesitation As musician, I use this cart to transport my music gear from my car to the performance venue. There are many times when I am faced with carrying my gear several blocks from the nearest parking garage, or through the labyrinth of a large hotel complex. Since I have have acquired the Tri-Kart 800, I have noticed several changes in my equipment setup habits. Nowadays, I tend to bring more backup scenario equipment with me to the gig, rather than going back to the car to retrieve the necessary item. I can now easily bring both both a large amp and a smaller one, without having to scope out the room size first. Once setup is done, I enjoy using the cart to bring all of my luggage to my hotel room in one trip. For the first time in decades, I actually look forward to transporting my gear.I love how I can pile a tall, heavy stack of gear on the cart. I just tilt it back, and then have the cart supporting all the weight, rather than my body. At the time of this review, B&H Photo had the best price of the Tri-Kart that I have found on the internet. The ordering process was trouble-free, and the shipping was prompt.Over the years, I have spent a great deal of money on great music equipment that I use to make a living. Not knowing any better, I would always use a $50 cart from @ for my purposes. Even though I was hesitant to spend this amount of money on something as mundane as an equipment/luggage cart, I have to say that hands down, this is one of the wisest investments I have ever made. I just wish that I had known about this product ten years ago.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from VERY Disappointed I was salivating over the prospect of getting my first Remin cart. Their stellar reputation and the way the tri-kart promised to ease the transport of heavy equipment cases through airports made me proud to buy their made in the USA product. That was a little over a year ago. since then, I have found this cart is NOT nearly as durable as it claims and belies Remin's stellar reputation.I bought the cart with the handle accessory (HIGHLY recommended _ virtually can't be used without it) and the case (which used to be referred to as a 'flight case').Let's start with the accessories. Rubber grips are incredibly difficult to get on to the crossbar. Used WD40 and all sorts of other lubricant before I finally got them on. Today, the ends have ripped off the rubber grips. The flight case was completely worthless. The cart BARELY fit inside and the VERY first time I zipped it up, the zipper grip snapped right off the zipper. What a joke. Completely worthless.About five months ago, the handle stopped retracting fully, and the small black button that's supposed to retract the handle basically stopped working (the button would push, but it wouldn't release the slide). So, Remin's got this great lifetime warranty, right? Surely, when I call them with this issue, they'll be quick to accommodate. After all, with accessories, we're talking about a $200 cart. Nope. The guy I talked to on the phone at Remin said that happens frequently with the tri-kart, so they don't cover it. I would need to pay $40, plus the cost of shipping it to them. What a joke! The vertical tubes are NOT durable and prone to bending (and, NO, I am NOT overloading it). Also, I have to WD40 the foldout wheels frequently as they often squeak rolling through the airport.I gave it two starts, because the design is good and it gave me a decent year or so. I will never buy a Remin product again. In fact, I'm posting this review while shopping for a new cart to replace this tri-kart 800.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best for moving heavy items daily This is my 3rd one in 25 years. Used every day for heavy and big awkward boxes. I moved everything with the cart. The additional foldout helps to balance the load and makes moving on smooth suface very easy. With the two main wheels it is possible moving things reasonably well on non-paved walkways. It is fairly easy to drag it over the stairs with two main wheels and the rods connecting the smaller wheels.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best of its kind, but not perfect My wife (5'4 108lbs.)is a free-lance makeup artist/hair stylist in Las Vegas who carries about 100lbs of cosmetic and hair products and styling equipment along with a makeup chair and lighting setup to between 25 to 40 bookings a month -- in and out of hotels, convention centers studios and private homes -- over long carpet walk and hallways and sometimes up and down steps. This kart last longer than any we tried previously, is pretty light for what it can carry and folds up compactly. We still only get about 2-3 years before problems occur extending and compacting the handle. They fix it under warranty but it still cost $70 and you have to ship it back to them and it altogether takes a couple of weeks (unless you want to spend a bundle for express shipping) So if you really need one on a daily basis, you better buy two -- so you will have a back up. It might be good for 300lbs... but I don't know for how long.. I highly recommend getting the special wide grip handle assembly option as it will make navigating the cart when fully packed much easier. Especially if you need to go on a lot of carpeted areas (like casinos and hotel hallways) Not perfect but the best we have found for her needs.
