Epson T5801 reviews

UltraChrome K3 Photo Black Ink Cartridge (80 ml) is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 116.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's some of the best ink made Epson's K3 ink is THE best choice for long tone Fine Art printing, B&W and Color. Pricey stuff. Thousands per gallon but it is the best available for now. The lager the format of the printer the larger the ink cartridges it will take and the lower the price per OZ. These are for my 3800 and it's a great printer. They've yet to surpass it in print quality. The 3880 is it's replacement and I've down extensive tests on it and found ZERO difference in the quality. The only noticeable difference is that the new Vivid Magenta runs out twice as fast. So I'm keeping my 3800 as long as it prints and I can get ink for it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from When only the best will do! As a fine art photographer I require a black that is consistently rich and stable. Without a doubt this is the product that can be relied on to really deliver all that is required. The surface gloss is beautifully seductive and is responsive to a variety of media. For exhibition quality prints that are either created on high gloss, satin or luster surfaces, time and again the quality is outstanding. Currently I am using a lot of Epson's Metallic paper for my specialty work and cannot imagine a more exciting result from any other competitors' inks. I recommend this product without reservation.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great ink but: I am a pro user making primarily large art prints on my epson 3800 as well as day to day stuff ( billing , letters etc.) . The k3 ink is great stuff but EVERY time I change a cartridge I have run the nozzle cleaner at least twice to get the new ink going. This wastes all the ink and since (in my opinion) the stuff is kinda pricey I hate wasting it. And , yes, I shake, tap, spin & use pixie dust on the cart ,none of which helps.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gotta have it You cannot print diddley without photo black ink. I've used UltraChrome K3 only, for many years and it is amazing. I even have one print of a blue whale tail fluke that I shot up in Santa Barbara on the Condor Express, that has been in the bright, direct sunlight for 5 years and shows no signs of fading.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Beware the Epson K3 inks The picture quality is excellent. The inks are archival, by all accounts. However, based on personal experience and information from repair shops that work on these printers, the K3 inks may cause print heads to clog so badly that the head becomes useless and irreparable--or repairable only at a cost greater than the cost of a new printer. If you use these inks, use them frequently (one Epson tech recommended printing a test pattern two to three times a week to keep the heads clean) or risk losing your printer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from OEM Ink What can I say - OEM ink. Can't be beat. I tried after market brands in my Epson 3800. Like putting cheap oil in a Ferrari, don't do it! If you bought the high end printer - stick with high end ink. As to cost B&H has the best price I could find nationally.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Epson images better than silver based I'm a Luddite and thought ink jet printing would be hard and the quality hard to achieve. Right out of the box, my Epson 3880 gave me more beautiful prints than I was getting from one of the top pro labs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Ink If you want perfect photos without problems, use the OEM ink. Works every time, and will last the time.
