Epson T5809 Reviews

UltraChrome K3 Light Light Black Ink Cartridge (80 ml) is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 114.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from As advertised. Use with my Epson 3800 printer. Have used this same printer for around seven +/- years to print a huge number of prints -- from 8.5x11 to 17x22 and on a variety of paper manufacturers. Use prints for many things, including gallery exhibition. The prints look great (depending obviously on operator skill). I believe a large part of that comes from the quality of the Epson inks Have always used Epson inks in Bethanie -- Just checking in to see what you're doing this weekend? Have been doing a little photography last several days (samples attached), working on Vet Building stuff, and Garden City today.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best ink for Fine Art Printing Epson's K3 ink is THE best choice for long tone Fine Art printing, B&W and Color. Pricey stuff. Thousands per gallon but it is the best available for now. The lager the format of the printer the larger the ink cartridges it will take and the lower the price per OZ. These are for my 3800 and it's a great printer. They've yet to surpass it in print quality. The 3880 is it's replacement and I've down extensive tests on it and found ZERO difference in the quality. The only noticeable difference is that the new Vivid Magenta runs out twice as fast. So I'm keeping my 3800 as long as it prints and I can get ink for it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from UltraChrome Ink an Ultra Hit I have a need to produce multiple images for the numerous copies of my fashion photography portfolios. I rely heavily on my use of shadow in my photographs. The UltraChrome K3 Light Light Black ink cartridge is amazingly effective, in combination with the other Black cartridges in producing lush, textural tonal detail to the shadow areas of my photographs. I could not be happier with the stability of the ink on the paper helping to create long lasting images. This is a product I would highly recommend. Though the cartridges are a little pricey, B&H offers them at more affordable rates than many other retailers. And you can't complain about price considering the quality and the longevity of the cartridge, and the images it helps produce.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Beware the Epson K3 inks The picture quality is excellent. The inks are archival, by all accounts. However, based on personal experience and information from repair shops that work on these printers, the K3 inks may cause print heads to clog so badly that the head becomes useless and irreparable--or repairable only at a cost greater than the cost of a new printer. If you use these inks, use them frequently (one Epson tech recommended printing a test pattern two to three times a week to keep the heads clean), otherwise, risk losing your printer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stay with the real deal I use this ink in my 3880. I know some photographers that use third party ink in their Epson printers. I have to say that their prints look great but they all have much more trouble with clogging nozzles than I do. I use my printer regularly and in the past three years I have only had one clog that was easily cleaned with one cleaning operation. I'm also confident that my prints are going to last well past my lifetime. Stay with real Epson ink, its just not worth the cost difference to use anything else.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Of course I would buy again- My printer eats ink My Epson 3800 Stylus Pro uses this ink, so I have to buy it. Kind of silly to review it. B&H Photo has the best prices. End of story.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Reliability Of course I buy this ink because it's the one made for my 3880, and it does hurt the wallet a little bit, but they're large, and last long. I have to say that I never have clogs or blockages, even after more than a month of disuse. It dries fast, is easy to replace, and comes from a company whose products I firmly believe in. I print fine art photos and illustrations which I sell as well as hang in galleries both here in NYC and elsewhere.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best price on Epson ink + free shipping! This was the first time ordering ink for my Epson 3880 printer. I scoured the web for the best price on these cartridges, and B&H was consistently about $10-$12 less than all the others, and that is without considering the free shipping! It shipped via normal post, but still managed to get to me within a few days. I am very happy with my experience and will be coming back here when I need more ink and other supplies.
