No, this particular model will not work on the t3i. You need to look for one with the sub-mini connection. There is another version of this same remote with that type of connector on this site, and it will list the t3i as a compatible camera. As for the unit itself, I use this one on a 7D and it works fine.

Unfortunately, the RS-C2II Wired Remote is not compatible with the Canon G11, as the G11 does not have the 3-pin accessory port. You would need the Vello RS-C1II Wired Remote Switch (B&H # VERSC1II).

As the Vello RS-C2II Wired Remote Switch for Select Canon 3-Pin Cameras, B&H # VERSC2II, has a [HOLD] lock switch surrounding the shutter button, you can press the button and slide it forward to lock it for long exposures.
