I have a Sony a6500 with a Sigma 150-600mm lens. Is there a dock that will work with this lens?
Asked by: John
The Sigma USB Dock for Sony A-Mount Lenses is only compatible with your Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG lens if the lens have a dedicated mount to Canon EF, Canon EF-M, Leica-L, Nikon F, Pentax K, Sigma SA, or Sony A (DSLR cameras). TYou could only attached those lenses if you were using an adaptor. If you are connecting your lens directly to the camera mount, you own a Sony E mount lens. At this Sigma has not yet realease a dock station for Sony E mount.

question

I'm a little confused about the lens/mount requirements. I have a Nikon D610 camera and am going to purchase the Sigma contemporary 150-600mm lens for my Nikon camera. Which dock do I purchase...the one fpr sigma lenses or another for (Nikon) F-Mount lenses??
Asked by: Chester
Thank you for your interest in Sigma products. The USB Dock for Sigma Lenses is for Sigma mount lenses. Since the lens you are purchasing is a Nikon mount then you will need the Sigma USB Dock for Nikon Lenses. Here is the link to the correct USB Dock.http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/967590-REG/sigma_878306_usb_dock_for_nikon.html

question

Is this dock compatible with Sigma 150-600 Sports Lens?
Asked by: Saimir S.
Thank you for your interest in Sigma products. The USB Dock is compatible with the 150-600mm Sports lens. You just have to make sure that lens mount is the same as the USB Dock. For example, If the 150-600mm Sports lens is for Canon, then you will need the Canon mount USB Dock. The USB Dock will work with our Art, Sport, Contemporary lenses. However it will not work with the DN lenses.

question

Is any kind of calibration aid (i.e., test chart) needed with this, or does the dock and software do it all?
Asked by: Robert
Robert, you don't need a test chart, but I would recommend a ruler or yard stick propped up at an angle to the vertical of about 30-45 degrees with the low point of the stick closest to you and it pointing away from you. Put a rod of some kind in the ground pointing straight up and next to some point in the middle of the yard stick. That will be the point you focus on. Position your camera the distance away you want to check the calibration (the Sigma software gives you 4 distances to calibrate). Take the picture focusing on the vertical rod. Open the image full size and look at the marks on the ruler. If the tick directly next to the rod you set up is in focus, it is fine for that distance. If it is sharper further on or further in, then use the software to adjust the focus a little and try again. Do a search for Sigma Brand Video for a good primer on how to use the software (it does require user input). If you do buy it hook everything up immediately and make sure it works. Mine does not recognize the lens (150-600 contemporary). I've gotten a replacement dock and it is still not working several weeks after getting the lens and dock.
