FotodioX NIKF-EOS-PRO overview

  • 1Description

This Pro Lens Adapter from Fotodiox enables the use of your Nikon F lenses on Canon EF-mount DSLR cameras. It features a durable brass construction with stainless steel finish, a leaf spring ensures a secure connection between the lens and adapter, and its design also maintains infinity focus.

This manual adapter does not maintain automatic lens control between the camera and lens; aperture priority or manual shooting modes should be used, as well as stop-down metering for exposure control.

    FotodioX NIKF-EOS-PRO reviews

Pro Lens Mount Adapter for Nikon F Lens to Canon EF-Mount Camera is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 29.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid quality I was skeptical, since I wasn't happy with a cheaper Fotodiox version of Nikon to MFT. The Fotodiox PRO is the way to go. This adapter is very solid. I've mounted my Nikon 28-70/2.8 and 80-200/2.8 to my Canon 5D MkIII and the results have been rock solid. Put the adapter on the lens and rotate until it locks in place. It's designed to stay on the lens, not the camera body. You need to push down on the small lever to release it and twist it off the lens. There were no instructions with mine. So far, no wobble or play. I considered the RedrockMicro, but it attaches with small screws. Good if you want a semi-permanent solution, but I use my lenses on different cameras, some with a Nikon mount. The Fotodiox Pro adapter allows me to be more versatile.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Lens got stuck on camera body. I feel really bad giving this product a bad rating because usually FotodioX makes great products on a budget, but I must. The shiny lever that releases the lens can get stuck on the camera body, which results in being unable to remove the lens. Well you can, just needs to be forcibly twisted off which poses a risk to your camera's well being. I guess you can just break off the lever in the first place, which will eliminate the risk entirely at the cost of not being able to lock the lens on the body. Which by the way, the locking mechanism doesn't always work. I'd have given the product a 1-star rating if it wasn't for FotodioX' great warranty/exchange policy. I told them about the problem and they quickly helped me out and sent a couple replacements within the week. Splendid. Just be careful when you use it. Unfortunately I can't recommend this product because of that problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best dumb adapter We bought 4 different dumb adapters including the Novoflex that's twice the price and this one fit the best, so we now have 5 of them. Worth mentioning, one of them had a faulty lens locking mechanism and was replaced. Other than that, the only other con (and it's present on all adapters we've tested) is that you can get a teensy wiggle if you're not a gentle focus/zoom puller and/or you twist the lens body. It's quite a snug fit though really. Much better than a very expensive MetaBones E-mount adapter we have :/

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I works! I got a oldNIKKOR 50mm f/1.4 manual lens from my dad, but since I mostly shoot with aEOS Rebel T2i I have decided to give this lens mount a try. It mount the lens on to the camera without any problem, and it maintained the proper focus distance. Still it is not extremely useful as a DSLR is not build to work with a manual lens, it's hard to read the aperture setting and it doesn't have any focus aid such as focus prism. Still I enjoyed the ability to shoot with some older lens. While it is not extremely useful, it's an nice to have item.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not so great. This does adapt a Nikon lens to a Canon (in this case, a Mark II). But it's hard to remove from the lens you are putting up, or worse when you are trying to switch lenses. Eventually, it broke. Not sure I'll replace it. Would prefer a sturdier adapter despite the bigger size and added length and weight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as described. I purchased this adapter so that I could use my Nikon lenses with my new Canon 60Da camera. The adapter attaches securely to the lens and mounts correctly on the camera. The automatic focus does not work, nor does the automatic exposure. Since I am using this combination for astrophotography, I set these all manually anyway.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best purchase Ive made I was sitting on all these old lenses from some film cameras. I didnt want to sell them because I thought they might come in handy and, the amount offred by Calumet wasnt even half of what I paid. Once I got the Nikon F Pro lens adepter I was able to use every lens I own on my Canon digital.
