LCDVF169D 3" LCD Viewfinder for Select Panasonic and Sony Cameras is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good build quality but.... Couldn't find many reviews of the 169D online so the purchase was a bit of a gamble not knowing for sure the magnet bracket would fit perfectly on the LCD screen of my Sony a7S or a7R. Well, it doesn't fit around the perimeter of the LCD; it's actually smaller so it covers the top and bottom portion by up to 5% depending on how you position it. So, Sony a7 owners be aware that you will lose about 2.5% of the top and bottom of the screen blocking certain icons of the display. Other than that, the build quality of the viewfinder as well as the magnets holding it in place and the magnification lens are all quite good. Focusing becomes really easy now with peaking using this viewfinder.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Does it's job, could be better I'm using this on the back of a Sony A6300 to shoot video. While it does work as advertised, the magnets holding it on are not very strong so it can get bumped off easily. Use the included neckstrap so you don't lose it. I'm used to a Zacuto which is firmly held in place. The optional diopters work to fine tune the focus.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Assist for Bright Sun Field Photos I found this LCDVF to make my LX100 finally usable for the landscape and macro shots I bought it for. (Wouldn't buy this camera again, though for these purposes.) PROs: The Viewfinder gives bright clear images of selected scene plus your otherwise unreadable camera settings clustered around the perimeter of the LCD (@1x magnification). The sponge rubber insert for the eyepiece makes viewing with progressive-lens glasses very comfortable. CONs: It adds decided bulk to your compact camera, is awkward to carry along when hiking (I used a fanny pack to carry and perch it on when not shooting); it can bump off the camera if you bump it when squatting down for a macro shot, and one of the magnets came out upon first use. (Because it always sticks to the camera body's magnet frame, added upon installation of the LCDVF, that has not yet been a problem) Overall, I would buy it again, but regret buying such an expensive camera that requires this add on and still doesn't produce stellar landscape or macro photos for me. I would ONLY recommend this as a workaround assist for a disappointing LX100 camera. (cheaper than buying another camera at this point.)
