Sensei PRO Reviews
Very good quality
Pros: one size Filters for all of my Lenses. Cons: Can't use Lens shade.
But don't over tighten
I've purchased multiple Sensei products in the past six months and have been satisfied each time, this is no exception. The specific purpose of my purchasing this step-up ring is to connect a Tiltaing Mini-Matte Box to an older Pentax-mount kit lens (RICOH by Rikenon). The Sensei PRO Aluminum Step-Up Ring did just that, flawlessly. I am usually quite careful with threading anything onto a lens, however this ring was capable of threading smoothly onto a fixed horizontal lens while mounted to a weighted artifact, something I've found to be quite impressive. Granted, there is not much required of a step-up (or down) ring other than mounting a lens to an artifact which requires a larger (or smaller) diameter lens than the one of interest. That being said, I have never had an issue with the threading on a Sensei step ring (I have both step-up and step-down rings from Sensei and Sensei PRO). I have, however, had an issue in the past with poor quality threading on a different brand name product that essentially fused a filter to my lens. I will not mention the brand as it was purchased from Amazon and is not offered B&H. The knurled grips add enormous value to the product as well; they are truly duty-based and not an afterthought. As far as construction is concerned, this ring is light, yet sturdy. It comes in its own clear plastic case designed specifically for this product, and the case is a small enough size to throw into the camera bag. Overall, I am a satisfied user of every Sensei product I have encountered, this one included.

It's comfortable and saving !!
I love these products; so simple.
Smart way to multipurpose your filters
I used to spend a lot of money buying multiple variations of the sample filter--UV, Gradient, Polarizer, etc. The challenge is, buying good quality filters adds up when you need a 52mm, a 72mm, and an 82mm version. This step-up ring is a nice solution. I now buy only 1 filter in the largest diameter I need (82mm), and use this adapter ring to secure it to narrower lenses. The ring is good quality, and I especially like the pro addition of the ridged edge, which makes it much easier to grip when adding/removing it. The only reason I didn't give 4 stars is the thinness of the material. I've found--especially going from 52-82mm--that there's a bit of flex in the ring. You have be extremely careful and patient when threading it onto your lenses to ensure you don't cross-thread or otherwise jam this adapter onto your lens. But for the money, this is a great solution to reduce the number of filters and save some dollars as well.
Grateful to find this particular step up ring because of the large range in size. Not many to find, but made solid and fits perfectly on my Canon RF 35 mm to accommodate my filters originally for my EF lens.
