the 86 mm side is so short it is useless for holding in a series 9 filter. why don't they make it better and charge more for it? it is a total waste of money.

It Works, Take Care not to get it stuck

Pros: Properly sized and machined. Nice anodized coating. Cons: not unique to this step-up ring at all -- no knurling (could not find what I really wanted: knurled and made of solid brass) -- so it is possible to get it "stuck" to the camera lens front or the back of the filter you are using it to mount to that lens. So, take care not to over-tighten, but tighten enough that the (presumably expensive! since it would be 86mm) filter on the front doesn't fall off.

Yes, you can stack 2 filters with the same size thread but beware of vignetting (darkening of the edges) with wider angle lenses.

Are both threads fine/standard or is the 95mm coarse like the Canon RF 28-70L and the 67mm fine?
Asked by: Nick
The Sensei 67-95mm Aluminum Step-Up Ring has course 1.0 pitch threading on the 95mm side, and standard 0.75 pitch on the 67mm side. This is fairly standard for these sizes.

If I have a camera with a 30mm lens, and a 37mm fisheye, do I need a step up or step down ring?
Asked by: Charlie
If your filter/attachment is larger than your lens, it's a step-up. In this case, your fisheye attachment is 37mm and your lens' front diameter is 30mm, hence, you'd need a step-up ring.
