Vello LA-NEX-FD Overview

Make the most of your existing collection of Canon FD-mount lenses with this Canon FD Lens to Sony E-Mount Camera Lens Adapter from Vello. This durable adapter will allow you these lenses to be mounted to a Sony E-mount camera. Precise construction makes it easy to attach an adapted lens to a camera body and keep it secure during use. Infinity focus is guaranteed, ensuring proper functionality when shooting at long distances.

The adapter is made from a durable zinc alloy for long life. Although the lens will fit physically, autofocus, automatic diaphragm (AE metering), and other functions dependent on communication between camera body and lens will be disrupted by the lens adapter. Focus and exposure will need to be set manually, or metered in aperture priority (stop-down) mode.

Enables the use of Canon FD-mount lenses on Sony E camera bodies, meaning an existing collection of lenses can be used on later generation DSLRs and mirroless cameras.
Precision machining securely holds the lens in place without any wobble.
Infinity focus is guaranteed by placing the lens at the correct distance from the sensor, doesn't prevent shooting distant subjects.
Made from a durable zinc alloy, this adapter will withstand many uses for long life.
The internal matte black finish reduces reflections and glare, ensuring images maintain sharpness and contrast.

Will this adapter successfully work with a Sony A7iii so that I can use my glass from a Canon AE-1 with the old Breach-lock FD lenses? Just curious before I buy this Vello brand. My Altson Canon EF to Sony FE adapter works great on my Sony A7iii. I'm hoping this Vello adapter will do the same for my AE-1 glass. Thank you, in advance
Asked by: Ken
Yes, it will work with a FD breach lock or standard bayonet.

What does "Focusing to infinity is retained." mean? Can I focus on subjects near me with this adapter?
Asked by: Kuro
With some adapters from other manufacturers or from other systems, occasionally the physics involved in making the lens suitable for use can prevents lens from focusing at infinity (aka the furthest point possible). With this one, there will be no limitations for focusing at minimum or at infinity. :)

question

I just got a LA-NEX-FD adapter, but my FD lens aperture won't change when I adjust the aperture ring. Do you know what might be the issue? Thank you.
Asked by: Yujia J.
Reread the other answers and try again. Probably also worth checking if your aperture moves while the lens isn't connected to anything. Sometimes this just wears out or breaks. If your aperture isn't moving then something is misaligned, or something is locked that shouldn't be. If you can choose between auto and manual on the lens itself, sometimes having it on auto can interfere.
