Does the 1.4 lens means that the converter crops a lens to 1.4? So a 28mm becomes a 40mm approximately? Or is the intenral 1.4 lens just for focusing?

FD lenses are manual focus and will remain so with an autofocus adapter. You will only be able to manually focus the lens.

FD (silver locking ring) and FDn (twist entire lens barrel) are compatible with the same camera-side mount flanges. If it works for one it will work for the other.

If the 1.4x correction lens is removed, can it be used on a bellows for either macro focusing, or to attach to a slide duplicator? Mainly I want to copy slides and don't care if it focuses to infinity.

The FotodioX Pro Lens Mount Adapter with Generation v10 Focus Confirmation Chip for Canon FD-Mount Lens to Canon EF or EF-S Mount Camera is only designed for mounting a Canon FD lens to a Canon EF or EF-S camera. Removing the optic won't make it useful for macro focusing or slide copying.
