Shure SM7B Overview

For Broadcasting, Podcasting, and Recording
The B&H 50th Anniversary matte red Shure SM7B is a vocal microphone with a smooth, flat, and wide-range frequency response appropriate for music and speech in professional audio applications. The mic's specially engineered dynamic capsule provides a smooth, polished vocal sound with a rich response in the lower frequency registers, making the mic a favorite choice among broadcasters and podcasters.
It features a cardioid polar pattern, bass roll-off and midrange emphasis (presence boost) controls, and shielding against broadband interference. Internal air-suspension shock isolation helps to eliminate mechanical noise transmission, and a yoke mount facilitates mounting and provides precise control of the mic position.
This microphone is part of the B&H Virtual Mic Locker, an online tool to help our valued customers determine the sonic differences between popular microphones for podcasting and voice over work. Each microphone was recorded using a Grace Design M103 preamp into a Presonus Quantum 2626 interface.
Flat, Wide-Range Frequency Response
The flat-frequency response enhances the midrange and high frequencies that are associated with the human voice.
Rejection of Electromagnetic Hum
Improved rejection of electromagnetic hum—optimized for shielding against broadband interference emitted by computer monitors.
Air Suspension Shock Isolation
Internal air-suspension shock isolation virtually eliminates mechanical-noise transmission.
Pop Filter
The detachable close-talk windscreen eliminates the need for any add-on protection against explosive breath sounds—even for close-up vocals or narration.
Cardioid Polar Pattern
The classic cardioid pickup pattern is designed to reject off-axis audio, so you can sing or speak at a comfortable angle. And, it captures the sound with minimum coloration, isolating the signal source helps to reduce feedback issues.

Would you be able to recommend how to set up the Behringer ULTRAGAIN PRO MIC2200 2-Channel Tube Microphone Preamplifier/Line Driver/DI Box with a Shure SM7B Cardioid Dynamic Broadcast Microphone to a computer? I have the mic and preamp but need a new computer to interface with. Any suggestions for this combo? Thanks!!!

For best results, this preamp should be connected to a computer using a USB audio interface. The Focusrite 2i2 is a solid choice that is compatible with both Mac and PC. The unit features front panel line inputs that can accept the outputs of both of the Behringer preamp outputs and will be compatible with virtually any recording software.

Need a recommendation for a voice mic to use with an M BOX Mini currently using a SHURE PE 515, I also have a SHURE 545L which I have not tried. Or, if I get a Shure SM7B will I be able to use my Passport 150 Pro as a pre-amp for the M BOX Mini?

Sorry, but I'm not familiar with the M Box Mini or Passport 150 Pro, so I can't answer your question. I do know that you should also purchase a Cloudlifter to use with the SM7B Mic- it's an excellent combination!

Probably not. Plus this is a dynamic mic and you'd want to use a confessor mic with the Auray ISO-ARMOR-2
