I tried a different brand and it on;y lasted about a year. The Hoodman eyecup is easy to install. I use it mainly to keep my nose from smearing up the rear screen and it does a good job of that. It also helps keep glare off the viewfinder. When I pack my camera in a backpack I have many times where the eyecup gets pushed back to an inverted position. This is what caused my first eyecup to tear. The Hoodman holds up to the abuse.

I've Owned Hoodman Eyecups In The Past For My Nikon Dslrs. I Loved The Way They Allowed My Eye To Rest On The Cup, Feel Supported With A Firm Connection To The Camera, Both During Exposure And Then Later Review. I Still Own And Love My Eyecup For The D750. this Eyecup, On The Other Hand, Has Departed From Their Quality Feel And Function That I Had Connected With The Brand. I Made The Choice To Go With Hoodman Instead Of Other Cups For Lesser Price, Just Because Of My Past Experience And Love For The Product. This One. No. Using It For The Z8, I Haven't Had Issues With Left Or Right Orientation. I Haven't Had Issues With It Falling Off. What I Do Take Issue With Is That The Rubber Material This Rendition Is Made Out Of Really Is Painfully Stiff In Comparison To Prior Versions. I Press My Eye Against The Cup To Get Contact And Occlusion. But I Really Need To Press Harder To Overcome The Stiffness Of The Rubber. It May Not Be The Rubber Itself, But More The Angle And Shape Of The Cup That Makes Me Need To Push Harder Against A Stiffer Cup To Get Light Out. It's Painful To My Eye Socket In So Doing. Even Just Making Contact To The Cup Doesn't Allow For The Ease And Bend For The Rubber. bottom Line, It Hurts To Use This Cup Due To The Need To Push Against A Hard Surface Made So By The Angle Of The Cup Itself, Not The Rubber Material ( I Can Bend The Rubber Without No Problemo ). I Don't Think This Translates To Other Hoodman Eyecups These Days, Though I Have No Idea. I'm Looking For A Different Brand That Gives The Soft Feel Of Connecting With The Z8 That I've Had With The D750.

The Hoodman HoodEYE Eyecup for Nikon Z8 and Z9 Models has a rotating eyecup, so you can position the extended flap wherever is most convenient for the particular photo you are making.

This eyecup will fit the Nikon ZF as it comes with the Nikon DK-33 eyecup the same as the Z9 and Z8. However, it will interfere with the articulating screen especially when trying to move the screen back in place. I hesitate forcing the screen over the bottom of the eyecup but good news is a press of the button and rotating the eye piece easily moves it out of the way. Not sure if the camera is suited for frequent removal of the eyecup though.
