The Tiffen 43mm UV Protector Filter is a general use, clear filter that helps to absorb ultraviolet light and reduce the bluish cast of daylight. This filter is especially useful when photographing at high altitudes or around bodies of water. No additional coloration or contrast is provided, allowing you to pair this filter with others.

The UV filter is also useful as a general protective filter to leave on lenses at all times. Filters help to reduce dust and moisture from reaching your lens element and provide additional protection in case of drops or situations where scratching could occur.

Tiffen filters are made using ColorCore technology; a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, then mounting to precision metal rings.

Absorbs some ultraviolet light and reduces bluish cast of daylight.
Clear filter provides no additional coloration or contrast, allowing you to pair this filter with others.
General protection filter reduces dust, moisture, and scratches from reaching lens elements.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great budget UV filter How I use the Tiffen 43mm UV protector filter: - I bought this lens for use with my Canon EF-M 22mm f/2 STM lens. It provides protection for my front element. What I like about the Tiffen 43mm UV protector filter: - It's affordable and does the job as supposed to! It protects against UV and keeps dust, smudge, and impact away from directly affecting the front element on my lens. What I don't like about the Canon EF-M 22mm f/2 lens: - I have no complaints, really. Overall: - Best applied when you first open that front lens cap, this is minimal investment with maximum protection. =

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More than just a protector I got this to use as a bottom stack cap for my 43 and 52mm filters with step-up ring. It can also be used as a UV protector. Nevertheless, it has a 1/4 stop Neutral Density effect when used in low light. It's very clear and has no color tint when used. For the price, it's well worth the cost as either a stack cap, or lens filter. reason is, Metal stack caps cost 2x the price, and you only really need the rear cap, as a pinch cap will perform more efficently than the screw on stack cap.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as lense protector I'm using my UV filter mainly as a lense protector. I have not campared video with the UV filter to without, so I can't say how well it performs as a UV filter. I have had a little bit of a problem with lense flare, but I think that's a given if you shooting into the sun...

Rated 1 out of 5 by from You get what you paid for Didn't plan on purchasing it, just added it since it was cheap. The only good thing i have to say about it is that it protects the front element of my 22mm f/2 lens, other than that, this is an awful filter, it ruined all my night shots and other shots, which were taken with it, the flare is unacceptable. I always buy the B+W expensive ones and should have done so also for this lens.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good value, trusted company I use this on my vintage 38mm Olympus Pen-F lens on my Sony Nex-5n. It proves very satisfactory in protecting my lens, though the photos exhibit some flare, which I cannot attribute to any specific factor. It looks big on that tiny lens, but it's actually quite small in dimensions. All in all- good value for money!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Disappointment Unfortunately, 1 of the 2 lenses was damaged on arrival and I realized they didn't protect the camera from 2 blue reflections (coming from ambiant halogen spots) while shooting (which is the use of those lenses right?). I was expecting better base on the reviews...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Filter Does a very nice job. Sharpens the quality of the video quite well. This came in the kit I bought with the panasonic 70 camcorder. I hadn't thought much about a filter before, this definitely makes a difference in the video.
