Mounts my old Minolta Lenses solidly, but sometimes has a faint blue circle in center of image. Seems to be related to angle of light source.

Very useful

No sirve para nada.El montaje del elemento ptico interno con la arandela pintada de blanco produce un halo en la imagen que inhabilita la foto que puedas tomar.El halo aumenta o disminuye segun el diafragma empleado pero siempre est presente en la foto final..

Built like a tank...a toy tank.

I had this on my camera a whole hour, shot a few test shots using a bargain find sony mount tamron 200-400mm beer can lens that I got for $. I put my camera in my vehicle and went to pick it up and the whole adapter just came apart. Luckily my D750 was only inches from my carseat. So everything came apart with one side attached to the lens and the other to the camera and various internals on my seat. I'm looking it over to see why it failed and returning it for an exchange.

Adequate at best

Purchased to use my old Minolta A mount Lenses on my new Nikon F mount Camera, it works as described, but in my opinion, a rather low quality product. I use it occasionally for general Photography only because I don't want to scrap my old (& expensive) Minolta Pro Lenses.

Excellent product

Well machined, no lathe cutmarks, no burrs or machine scars on coupling flanges. No assembly scars, scratches dings or dents on interior or exterior body. Very well made. Adapter fits all my Nikon F series lens mounts with ease. If all FotodioX products are equal in quality they are an excellent product and quite well worth their purchase.

Intending on using this to pair my Sigma35mm1.4 DG A mount lens to a Nikon FE film camera body. What camera functions do I lose?

The FotodioX Pro Lens Mount Adapter for Sony A Lens to Nikon F Mount Camera is a manual adapter. You will have no control of the lens from the camera. To change the light coming in tfrom the lens the adapter has a diagram. So you do not change the f/stop. And because of the flange distance the adapter has a 1.4x lens in it. So any lens on it will be 1.4x times longer.

question

Not sure how this adapter should work. I have minolta lenses that I'd like to use on my Nikon D300. The adapter fits the lense to the camera very tightly but I can't control the aperture from the camera body, my shots are blurred, out of focus and under-exposed. How should this work or is it something I'm not doing properly?

Automatic diaphragm, auto-focusing, or any other such functions will not be accessible while using this adapter. Stop-down mode will need to be used when attempting to use in-camera metering with a lens and this adapter because a lens used in that case will not have the ability to have its aperture controlled by the camera body. You can shoot in manual mode or aperture priority mode.Focus will be manually from the lens and the f/stops can be change from the adapter. This image displays the functions of the adapter, http://bit.ly/1fmts94

question

what is meant by Stop-down mode ?
Asked by: Anonymous
stop down mode means the lens aperture is closed down to the setting on the lens. Like 8. With an auto lens, the apeture stays open for viewing and focusing and only closes down when you push the shutter. Stop down doesn't need any electrical communication between the lens and the camera. It cab also be darker view and harder to focus because the lens is stopped down to the shooting aperture.

It will fit your camera but not your lens. Currently there are no adapters to fit a Sony E mount lens onto a Nikon F-mount camera.
