Rated 4 out of 5 by from just as described i use the product on my 50mm, f/ 1.4, and Nikon D40. i bought it on a whim, thinking must protect the lense but i think if i could go back i would have bought a hood instead. the only drawback to it, is it makes the lense cap a little harder to put on and it seems like it may come off a little too easy. since it's december and i'm in maine, all my shots are indoor (our snow is almost up to the bottom window pane on one side). so, i'm not finding shooting conditions with much glare so i cant tell a difference with it on or off at this point. however it is crystal clear, easy to take on and off, and high quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent lens protector I use it to keep the lens from getting dirty or scratched. Does the job well ... no impact on image quality, color, or exposure. Screwing and unscrewing the filter from the lens is a bit stiff ... cannot tell if it is the lens or the filter thread. Probably the lens as the filters seem to have a smoother action on my old Nikon metal barrel lenses. I tripped and fell, hitting my D40 with the 18-55 kit lens and the filter on the sidewalk. Everything survived, and even though the filter took the brunt of the hit, it was not damaged.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Clear Optics, but ghosting & dust Very clear. I don't notice any difference in the amount (or properties) of the light that reaches the sensor with it off or on. One drawback is that ghosting occurs if there is a bright light (like a light bulb in an otherwise dim room) in the image frame. But these aren't common conditions. Another drawback is that the surface of the filter attracts dust more easily than the lens.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great choice I bought this for an 18-55mm kit lens on a Nikon D5100. Very clear, no distortion, good protection. Very pleased

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can't go wrong with this Nikon filter!!! I make it a habit to buy a NC filter for every Nikon lens I have. If there is a Nikon NC filter available then that's what I buy every time. Nikon filters have never let me down. If you're going to spend several hundred dollars for a great Nikon lens then protect it with a NC filter that Nikon puts its name on rather than a cheaper version. You'll may save a few bucks on the front end but pay in the long run if an accident happens or worse you miss a great shot because the cheaper filter wasn't up to task. Same holds true for ordering from B&H. Both are proven winners.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Top-of-the-line clear glass filter When I purchase Nikkor lenses, as a matter of personal preference, I always buy a Nikon Clear NC Glass filter to protect the front element. The Nikon filters are well made and feel heavier than the less expensive models. Yes, they are somewhat expensive, but they last and provide protection for many years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great filter I bought this filter to protect my Nikon lens. It has the same coating as the Nikon lens so I though it would be a good match. The filter is of very high quality and is made in Japan. My surprise was that it actually makes my Nikon lens look more expensive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Filter I'm using this on a Nikon 35mm f/1.8 G DX Amazing Filter, the coating does really work, without the filter, I see ghosts, but with it on, it removes them about 80% of the time and the other 20% is always lower than if the glass was bare. I also think that it is a great way to protect from fingerprint smears or accidental breakage of the lens. The first time I opened up the box, I could not see the lens until I turned it like 85degrees against me.
