The JZ Vintage 12 Dual-Diaphragm Microphone is a hand-soldered condenser mic modeled after AKG's revered C12; however, JZ Microphones replaced tubes with transistors, and added its signature GDC12 diaphragm.

The V12's transformerless, passive and active design is built for low-noise audio. Additionally, the inner shockmounting system protects the V12 from physical impact. Proprietary "Golden Drop" sputtered technology is used to achieve faster reaction times, along with its 2-layer mesh to create transparent sound.

For high-frequency performance, the V12 implements Class-A circuitry and has a bi-directional polar pattern at 1 kHz in the near field. The dual diaphragm generates an omni polar pattern at 100 Hz in the far field; and, for a tight low end at close proximities, it generates a supercardioid pattern at 100 Hz with 5 dB more attenuation than a single-diaphragm design would allow.
