What's the difference between the Tiffen UV filter ($6.29) and the UV Haze 1 filter ($11.25)?

You could use the Tiffen 67mm UV filter on the SX50, though you would need the Canon Filter Adapter FA-DC67A (B&H#CAFADC67A).

Sorry, I got it backwards, it's the newer lens that requires the 77 mm filter. Either way, you can use the 67 mm filter.

cannot answer directly but i did hesitate w/ the wide angel lens. set a straight edge (carefully) across the front of the lens and if the front glass is below the edge w/o touching a filter should be okay, otherwise you will need to stack some rings to gain clearance.
