Hoya A-NXT72UV Overview

  • 1Description

The Hoya 72mm UV Haze NXT HMC Filter is a general use, clear filter that helps to absorb ultraviolet light and protect the front of your lens. Its clear design allows you to pair this filter with others or leave on lenses at all times as a general protective filter. It can also help to reduce dust and moisture and keep them from reaching your lens element while providing additional protection in case of drops or situations where scratching could occur.

Hoya HMC filters are multi-coated for reducing flare, ghosting, and reflections on the filter surface. As a result, over 97% light transmission is possible in order to maintain contrast and color fidelity. The UV NXT filters are constructed from high quality, heat-resistant, high-transparency optical glass and a precision milled low-profile aluminum frame.

Absorbs UV light, which can cause outdoor photos to appear hazy and indistinct.
Works as general protection filter to reduce dust, moisture, and scratches from reaching lens elements.
HMC multi-coating affords greater than 97% light transmission and helps to reduce flare, ghosting, and reflections on the filter surface for greater contrast and color fidelity.

Hoya A-NXT72UV Reviews

72mm UV Haze NXT HMC Filter is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 126.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hoya is Hoya This is a thin filter. Thin is good. Hoya optics (coatings) pass muster with any self-respecting photographer - read the zillions of positive reviews here and elsewhere. I sprang for this as a present to myself- usually using a more cheap-o filter for lens protection. If you don't mind the price tag, this is an excellent all-around filter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 72mm UV Haze NXT HMC Filter by Hoya Attached the filter to my brand new (and expensive) Sigma lens (Nikon Mount). I have been buying Hoya filters since I got my first 35 MM SLR (back in 1977) and have never been disappointed. The primary reason I purchased it is to protect my lens. They are not the cheapest but I, but I trust the brand. Never experienced any issues.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hoya one of the best I use Hoya and Nikon Filters exclusively. This UV Haze NXT HMC is a great filter as well as protection for my lens. I am usually buying these for my DSL camera's but this one is on my Sony HXR-NX3/1. Only time I even know the filter is on the camera is on a hazy day and my video is clear. I would and have bought this again!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would be crazy to go without one of these. On two occasions I have banged my camera against metal, wood or concrete hard enough to shatter my lens filter. I was so glad I had a filter on my lens both times as my lenses would have been ruined otherwise. I have always used Hoya filters as they are of high quality and get great reviews and more than one professional I know personally has recommended them. I have worried that using a filter could reduce image quality. I don't have the skills or equipment to do lens/filter testing. However, I have taken pictures with the lens filter in place and taken the same pictures with the filter removed and there was zero difference in the pictures. I most highly recommend a filter for lens protection. However, the one caveat I would stress is this. If you are going to use a lens filter, use a good one such as the Hoya.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must Have for a new lens I order one of these HOYA filters for every new lens I order. It is installed on the lens as soon as it comes out of the box. A must have to protect the investment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great filter It's a great filter...does the job, protects the camera lens, easy to screw on, clear. If you need one, get it. Really isn't much more to say about it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fine Filter I put one of these on every lens. Cheap insurance to protect front glass. Does what it's supposed to do. Good threads - goes on and off smoothly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great filter, does exactly what it needs to do I purchased this filter based on the reviews, and it doesn't disappoint. I got it to protect my 50mm 1.2/L.

Yes, the NXT filter series has front threads. You can either stack filters, or use a standard lens cap.
