I specifically purchased this for one of my Nikon lens for physical protection purposes. It easily screws on (on off) my lens. There is no exposure impact having this filter on your lens. So far, I have been very pleased with this filter.

Works great - Nikon filters are excellent

I am generally not a fan of protective filters as it is another layer of glass to reduce quality but sometimes conditions dictate having one. In that case I want maximum quality and maximum light transmission which Nikon absolutely meets.

question

How is this filter different than a UV filter?
Asked by: Anonymous
UV filters will filter out UV light that exists outdoors but are not visible to the human eye (but that can end up affecting your images). This Nikon 77mm Clear filter is clear, meaning just a clear piece of glass to protect the lens.
