Announcing Kopul Line-to-Mic Attenuator Cables for DSLR Audio

Kopul has just announced the addition of four line-to-mic attenuator cables for DSLR audio applications to their line of professional cable solutions for audio and video. Designed to take the line output from your portable digital recorder and connect it to the unbalanced mic level input on your DSLR camera, these cables allow you record audio to your external digital recorder and DSLR simultaneously. This can create an on-camera backup recording that also serves as an audio reference or scratch track for syncing the audio from your digital recorder in post production.

The cables feature a -25dB or -35dB L Pad attenuator to reduce the prosumer line-level output (-10dBV) to the camera's microphone-input level. The cables are designed with the proper impedances to assure maximum voltage transfer and low-noise operation without distortion. The cable shield is isolated on the camera end to prevent shield noise from directly coupling into the camera connector ground.

Each cable is 1 foot long and has a 1/8” TRS connector on each end. The ACDR-35 provides 35dB of attenuation and has straight connectors, while the ACH4-25R gives you 25dB of attenuation and features one right-angle and one straight connector. The ACH4-25MON and the ACH4-25MON-RA each allow for 25dB of signal attenuation and feature a 1/8” headphone tap that allows you to monitor the audio signal you are sending to your camera. The ACH4-25MON features two straight connectors, while the ACH4-25MON-RA connector configuration is right angle to straight.
