This drive enclosure limits it's speed to the port speed of 10Gbps regardless of it's host port's "faster" speed.

I've used this enclosure with Samsung 970 Evo ...

I've used this enclosure with Samsung 970 Evo Plus with Macbook pro touch bar 2016 via usb-c cable connected directly to MBP. The speed of read/write is just about 30-40 MB/S. What wrong with that?

Has anyone used this device to clone a system drive to a new NVMe SSD? I only have one internal key-M slot, and it's taken by the C: drive.

You can use this product to clone a system drive to a new NVMe SSD using whichever cloning software you choose. Be sure to connect the enclosure on a USB 3.x port. It will not work on a USB 2.0 port at all.
