Sensei Aluminum Step-Up Ring Reviews

Excellent for investing in a single GOOD nd filter

I held off for entirely too long on using ND filters because the thought of having to lock myself down to a specific lens to use it (or the thought of getting multiple cheaper filters) was just awful. I'm honestly not sure why I didn't think of looking for a step-up kit earlier, I knew they existed, there was just some kind of brain disconnect I guess. Anyway, I finally purchased a single really good ND filter, and these rings cover me for all the lenses I have. I added a nisi filter case to keep the rings and the ND filter in which makes it such an easy thing to pull out, quickly find the ring I need, then screw the ND on quickly. Love these!!

What I needed!

Yes, you can stack 2 filters with the same size thread but beware of vignetting (darkening of the edges) with wider angle lenses.

Are both threads fine/standard or is the 95mm coarse like the Canon RF 28-70L and the 67mm fine?
Asked by: Nick
The Sensei 67-95mm Aluminum Step-Up Ring has course 1.0 pitch threading on the 95mm side, and standard 0.75 pitch on the 67mm side. This is fairly standard for these sizes.

If I have a camera with a 30mm lens, and a 37mm fisheye, do I need a step up or step down ring?
Asked by: Charlie
If your filter/attachment is larger than your lens, it's a step-up. In this case, your fisheye attachment is 37mm and your lens' front diameter is 30mm, hence, you'd need a step-up ring.
