These Rings do the job...
WORKS WELL
This works well and allows me to use an 82mm filter on multiple lenses. One drawback. It is very lightweight aluminum and care must be used to not overtighten or squeeze the ring tightly to prevent seizing, deforming, or cross threading the ring.
Vital Now```
It seems newer lenses use 82mm as standard for many lenses (24-70) I have 77mm lenses and 82mm lenses now. This one is a well made and thus a good value.
Not good
They bend very easily and the threading is very sticky. Unusable after a couple of lens switches.
Bad threading
I don't know if this particular unit was bent slightly, but it was awkward to screw on and it cross threaded and locked itself onto my filter in my lens to the point where I had to damage my filter to get it off. It wasn't screwed on tightly, it just sort of locked itself in place. I bought a pair of $14 lens wrenches to remove it. Tried a second time and the same thing happened.
Works as advertised
I have being using this ring for a couple of weeks and no issues with it. No issues with the threads on either side of the ring.
Filters Frequently Very Difficult to Remove
These are aluminum step-up rings which have a strong tendency to seize. Even when filters are loosely tightened, they can frequently be very difficult to remove. While considerably less expensive than brass, they will likely cause more trouble than they are worth.
