Vello Wired and Wireless Remote Controls and Triggering Devices

0Share

Remote triggering devices are more than a convenience. In the right hands, a remote triggering system can expand the parameters of what’s possible when planning a complex, multifaceted photograph, or for that matter, add new twists to less complex subjects you’ve photographed countless times. Available hard-wired for shorter distances or wireless configurations for greater working distances, remote triggers help to eliminate camera vibration at the time of exposure, resulting in sharper pictures. For product shots, nature, long exposures, and macro photography, remote triggers can make the difference between a "keeper" and a "weeper."

Vello manufactures an extensive—and expanding—family of competitively priced remote triggering devices for cameras and electronic flash units. Depending on your needs, Vello produces wired and wireless remote triggering devices, two-function flash/shutter releases, and wired and wireless intervelometers, in addition to AC- and battery-powered portable studio flashes, remote triggers with both multi-channel and multi-group functionality, as well as extended-range units that will meet the demands of the most complex assignments reliably and consistently.

Vello Wireless Remote Shutter Controls and Releases

The Vello FreeWave Wireless Remote Shutter Release is designed to trigger single, continuous, and long-time exposures with select camera systems at distances of up to 320' (100 m) from the camera position in a choice of 16 frequency channels. It operates on a 433MHz frequency.

Some of the features found on the Vello FreeWave Wireless remote shutter release include a dual-range shutter release that focuses the camera lens when depressed halfway and fires the shutter when fully depressed, twin LEDs to confirm focus and shutter action, and the ability to trigger multiple receivers simultaneously. Embedded Smart Code technology enables a choice of up to 16 million possible radio channels with the ability to zero in on a frequency that provides optimized functionality at the working location. The FreeWave Wireless remote can also be used as a wired remote if the batteries die before you're finished taking pictures.

FreeWave Wireless Remote Shutter Releases are available for Canon Cameras with 3-pin Connections, Nikon cameras with DC-2 connections, Nikon cameras with 10-pin connections, Sony Alpha Cameras, and select Canon, Pentax, Samsung, Contax, Fujifilm, Hasselblad, and Sigma DSLRs.

Vello’s FreeWave Plus Wireless Remote Shutter Release, which is available for dedicated use with select cameras from Canon, NikonSony AlphaOlympus/CanonPanasonic/CanonSony SLT-A99Canon/Select Olympus, and all Nikon DSLRs, operates at 2.4GHz, a signal frequency less prone to ambient electronic noise at ranges of up to 320' (100 m).

In addition to the ability to trigger your camera wired or wirelessly, Vello's FreeWave Plus Wireless Remote Shutter Release features a choice of 16 operating channels, a built-in antenna, dual-stage focus lock trigger release, a 4-second trigger delay, bright LED status indicator lights for pre-focus and exposure confirmation when working in wireless mode, single- or multiple-exposure capability, and the ability to communicate with a broad range of popular camera systems based on the choice of camera release cable.

For photographers who need to trigger multiple cameras simultaneously, Vello offers the FreeWave Fusion Wireless Flash Trigger and Remote Control. Designed to operate at 2.4GHz for reduced radio interference when working in electrically noisy environments, the FreeWave Fusion wireless flash and remote trigger has an operating range of up to 320' (100 m), and can sync with flash at shutter speeds of up to 1/200-second or 1/320-second (depending on the camera).

For simple, run-and-gun applications, the Vello FreeWave Fusion Wireless Flash Trigger and Remote Control can be used with a single off-camera flash. For more complex lighting setups, up to three separate groups of lights in up to seven group combinations (with additional receivers) can be used to light the set or venue.

Because radio waves can pass through most windows and walls, there's no need for line-of-sight placement of camera and flash, which allows for more creative freedom and flexibility regarding where you place each of the individual flash units.

"...features bright, easy-to-read LEDs that confirm the operational status of the camera and lens's focus status..."

To keep you up to speed on the status of your wireless lighting system, the Vello FreeWave Fusion Wireless Flash Trigger and Remote Control features bright, easy-to-read LEDs that confirm the operational status of the camera and lens's focus status, pre-focus status, shutter-release status, flash wakeup, a dual-function shutter release button, and wireless communication between the camera and the individual flash(es).

Need to use the FreeWave Fusion Wireless Flash Trigger and Remote Control with camera systems from different manufacturers? No problem, just swap out the connecting cables and you're good to go.

You can also purchase the Vello FreeWave Fusion as a receiver-only (no trigger) for use with the same select cameras from CanonNikon, and Sony. The Vello FreeWave Fusion does not transmit TTL data. Power output on the FreeWave Fusion Wireless Flash Trigger and Remote Control must be set manually. For flash wake-up functionality and/or high shutter speeds, full Canon/Nikon/Sony TTL support via the camera, flash, and FreeWave Fusion trigger is required. If the flash does not have a wake-up function, refer to the flash's manual on how to turn off the sleep mode function (if possible).

Wireless Flash Trigger and Remote Controls

Photographers seeking features similar to those found on Vello’s FreeWave Fusion Wireless Flash Trigger and Remote Control, but who require a longer transmission range, can try the Vello Fusion Pro Wireless Flash Trigger and Remote Control, which extends the camera/flash communication range from 320' to approximately 600'.

A feature unique to the Vello Fusion Pro Wireless Flash Trigger and Remote Control is TTL Pass-Through, which transfers TTL data from your camera to the camera’s shoe-mounted flash while simultaneously triggering remote flash unit(s), automatically in Manual mode. Other features found on the Vello Fusion Pro Wireless Flash Trigger and Remote Control include flash sync at shutter speeds up to 1/200-second (with compatible cameras), a dual-function shutter release, bright, easy-to-read LED indicator lamps for verifying pre-focus, flash wake-up, and shutter release confirmation. Dedicated versions of Vello's Fusion Pro Wireless Flash Trigger and Remote Control are available for use with DSLRs from NikonCanon, and Sony.
